<SomeGuyInaSuit>Otsdarva looked around on there approach to the train station. The population looked normal, and didn't see any signs of disaster that happened. "This is it." he said hearing Sol walk in. "It doesn't look like this town has been disturbed. I see no signs of the other train either."
<gigglesalot>Sol looked out the window. Perhaps she should talk to him about what happened last night? No, not now. "It looks fine. We should get moving."
<SomeGuyInaSuit>The train stopped to a separate track from the main to the train station. As soon as the train stopped he got down, signalling the populace that it was a "private train". Otsdarva looked around for some kind of telecommunication device.
<gigglesalot>Sol and Opal got off the train with Leon. "I'm going to scout around." Sol said before the two trotted off. Opal walked away in search of fresh supplies.
<SomeGuyInaSuit>Otsdarva found another crank phone, and used it to try and contact Omer again. After waiting for a while, he hung the phone up and asked something to the clerk then to some others. Eventually Sol noticed him talking to someone who was pointing at places along the cliff dwellings. Otsdarva started to set off...
<gigglesalot>Sol and Leon made their to him. "What did you learn?" She asked.
<SomeGuyInaSuit>"They said that a train stopped by here yesterday, and that several people got off, they looked like one group. One of them was wearing a lab coat he said, and they all ascended to the second level of that cliff." Otsdarva pointed out some dwellings far ahead. "That they kept going along the cliff pass the residency and just disappeared from there." Otsdarva then looked at the two. "Also something is wrong... The Omer facility isn't answering. It's so unlike them"
<gigglesalot>"We need to check it out."she looked up towards them cliff. "Climb on, riding up will be faster then walking."
<SomeGuyInaSuit>Otsdarva secured his case on Leon and mounted up. "yeah, let's go!"
<gigglesalot>Sol urged Leon forward. He moved swiftly up the roads towards the cliff.

<SomeGuyInaSuit>The party continued well past the dwellings till they turned to a cliffside overlooking a river at the bottom and what appears to be a mountain on the other side. Up ahead appeared to be some sort of a rope and plank bridge connecting the two with someone standing at the entrance. Otsdarva began to hear popping noises on the other side of the mountian. "Any of you two hear that?
<gigglesalot>Leon's ears twitched around. Sol nodded and slowly urged him across the bridge.
<SomeGuyInaSuit>The person at the bridge start was wearing some kind of leather armor and had a musket, he signaled Leon to stop. "Hey, this bridge is closed, get lost!" he said.
<gigglesalot>Sol still urged the beast forward, and began to pretend she couldn't hear. "Sorry! What?" She pointed to her ears. "I can't hear! Bad hearing!"
<SomeGuyInaSuit>The man raised his musket and fired at Leon causing the party to fall, Ostdarva fell off the bridge holding on with his right arm to one of the ropes. The man reloaded and had his eyes on some fireworks on the other side of the party.
<gigglesalot>Sol and her mount were not so lucky. Having been shot, Leon had stumbled off the bridge taking Sol with her. She let out a terrified scream as the water grew closer.
<SomeGuyInaSuit>The man rushed to the other side to light the fireworks in order to signal for help. Otsdarva looked at the falling pair but had nothing to save them with. He pulled himself up to prone position on the bridge and unfolded his Arbalest. He took a shot at the man hitting him on the back before he could light the fireworks, Otsdarva looked to see if there was anyway of getting to the river to help Sol and Leon
<gigglesalot>The girl and the beast hit the water, creating a massive splash. Leon resurfaced, but because of his size and weight began to sink again. He looked around for Sol, yelping. Slowly the water began to take him.
<SomeGuyInaSuit>Otsdarva threw the man off the bridge along with the fireworks and began racing along the mountain in hopes of finding a way to get Leon and Sol out. He mountain was very steep, and it was hard for him to keep up.
<gigglesalot>With a pitiful yelp Leon sank back under.
<SomeGuyInaSuit>Otsdarva came to a dead end of a rock slide. He looked ahead to see a loose boulder, then looked to the river again, saw no one and decided to go by theory. Otsdarva took a deep breath, then jumped onto the rockslide skidding his way down to the river. He tripped over a set of solid rocks propelling him into the river. He sank deep, then emerged, holding Sol over his shoulder. Otsdarva made for his Arbalest and shot at the loose boulder causing it to fall into the river and serve as an island of salvation. Otsdarva hit the boulder and climbed it, laying Sol down on the top.
<gigglesalot>Sol hacked and coughed. Then sat up. "Thanks. Leon knocked the- Leon! He can't swim!" She jumped up.

Otsdarva looked at where the drowning beast was in disparity, "I don't know... How are we going to get him out?!"
"I don't know! But I have to try." She waded waist deep into the water then dove.
Otsdarva was certain there was no way to save a wounded drowning beast at that magnitude, but he couldn't just abandon them. He dove in after her
Sol grabbed one of Leon's legs and began to fight her way to the surface. Eventually they made it and with what strength she had left, pulled him towards the shore.
"Oh gods..." Her words were quiet. Leon lay stiffly on the shore. The bullet wound still leaked small amounts of thick, red blood onto the rocks. "No, please!"
Sol fell to her knees and placed her ear against his chest. There was no heartbeat, no breath.
Otsdarva reached the shore along with them, he quickly attempted to suppress the wound, he quickly tried to search his coat for any surgical supplies. He had only a pair of potions and an antidote. Otsdarva thought for a second, then removed his glove from his right hand and attempted to pull the lead out with precision.
The lead ball came out covered in the beasts blood, but it did no good.
"He's gone..." Her voice quavered; slowly she lay her head on Leon's unmoving chest and stroked his cold skin. "I'm sorry Leon. I shouldn't have made you keep going."
Sol reached over and unstrapped his saddled and bridle. Then placed them beside her.
"I'm sorry!" She began to cry.
Otsdarva unloaded his health potion upon the wound even though he thought it would be useless. "I might have something to bring him back, I just don't know how long... Until... If we hadn't already lost him..." Otsdarva looked up to where the bridge was as well as where he thinks his case might be. "These guys mean business Sol, apparently they have little respect for life."
"I had that mush figured out." She sniffled. Muffled shouts came from the cliff above them. Someone came sliding down, then another. Some of the villagers had heard the gun shot and had come to investigate.
Otsdarva signaled the villagers to come down. As soon as they approached the pair he said: "Get him to any treatment or preservation you possibly can, alert what ever guards you have that there is danger on the other side of the river, have everyone take cover now, the entire city must be on lockdown!"
They nodded and rushed back up the slope and hollered out to the others the information which had just been relayed to them. Sol sat there looking up the slope, but kept her hand on Leon's chest.
"I'm going back up there" he said, "I need to see what's on the other side. This whole town might be in danger. With someone like that as a brige guard, many will suffer the same fate as Leon. Are you coming?"
She stood up. "They're going to pay for what they did." The rocks crunched underneath her feet as she climbed back up the slope. "Come on."

Otsdarva made his way back with her towards the rope bridge, "if there are any more at that bridge, attack first, they aren't showing the least of respect. These guys are cold."
Beta and Delta leapt from her shadow. "I was already planning on that."
After crossing the bridge the pair made there way through a slit in the mountain to the other side, from there they saw an active training camp with more people, such as those of the bridge guard, target shooting with muskets. Otsdarva went to a position out of sight and used his Arbalest sight to take a closer look. "I can't believe what I'm seeing... a terrorist training camp...
Beta and Delta yelped quietly and Sol crept up behind him.
"By the gods, it is."
A horrible scene for Leon D:
